Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pikachu Dream Painting Blind Box: Complete Collector Guide
Share
Pokémon's 30th Anniversary has brought collectors some seriously interesting products, but the Pokémon Dream Painting Vol. 4 Pikachu Blind Box is different from your normal Pokémon TCG release.
Instead of simply opening cards, this collection takes Pikachu card artwork and turns it into a three-dimensional collectible figure. Each sealed blind box combines a random Pikachu figure with the corresponding Pokémon card and a 30th Celebration booster pack.
For Australian Pikachu collectors, figure collectors and Pokémon TCG fans wondering exactly what these golden boxes contain, here's the complete guide.

What Is Pokémon Dream Painting?
Dream Painting Vol. 4 is a Simplified Chinese Pokémon collector release built around Pikachu and Pokémon's 30th Anniversary.
The concept is what makes these particularly cool.
Rather than creating unrelated Pikachu figures, the collection takes selected Pikachu card illustrations and recreates them as physical 3D figures. The corresponding card is included so collectors can display the original artwork and its sculpted interpretation together.
It's basically Pokémon card artwork stepping out of the card and onto your shelf.

What's Inside a Pikachu Dream Painting Blind Box?
Every factory-sealed blind box contains:
⚡ 1 × Random Pikachu Collectible Figure
🃏 1 × Matching Pikachu Pokémon Card
🎴 1 × Display stand/card holder
🔥 1 × Pokémon 30th Celebration Booster Pack
✨ 6 Pokémon cards inside the booster pack
The important part is that the included Pikachu card corresponds to the figure you've pulled.
So you're effectively opening two mysteries at once.
First you discover which Pikachu figure and matching card you've received.
Then you've still got a sealed six-card 30th Celebration booster pack to rip.

How Many Pikachu Figures Are There?
This is where collecting them gets interesting.
There are:
⚡ 13 possible Pikachu designs
12 regular Pikachu figures
+ 1 secret/hidden Pikachu design
Multiple current product listings independently document the same 12 regular + 1 secret configuration.
Each sealed individual box contains one random design, so you won't know which Pikachu you've got until you open it.
And yes...
Duplicates are possible. 😂
That's part of blind-box collecting.
Why Do the Figures Have Pokémon Cards Behind Them?
This is probably our favourite part of the collection.
Look closely at the figures and you'll notice that Pikachu isn't simply standing in front of a random Pokémon card.
The figure recreates the Pikachu shown in that particular card artwork.
The display combines the sculpted Pikachu with the corresponding card, creating the impression that Pikachu is coming out of the illustration and into the real world.
That makes collecting different designs much more interesting than collecting 13 simple colour variations.
You're effectively collecting 13 different pieces of Pikachu artwork in both 2D and 3D form.
Is There a Secret Pikachu?
👀 Yes.
Alongside the 12 regular designs is one hidden/secret Pikachu figure.
Several specialist retailers currently report a production ratio of approximately 1 secret to 143 regular figures.
Because that ratio is being reported by third-party sellers rather than something we'd encourage buyers to treat as a guaranteed pull rate, we'd view it simply as an indication that the secret is significantly harder to find.
Opening 143 boxes obviously doesn't guarantee one.
And that's precisely why seeing that mystery design when you crack open a box would be pretty special.
What Is the 30th Celebration Booster Pack?
The figure isn't the only thing you're opening.
Every Dream Painting Pikachu Blind Box includes a Simplified Chinese Pokémon 30th Celebration booster pack containing six cards.
So after finding out which Pikachu figure and matching card you received...
you've still got another pack to rip.
That's one reason we think this product works so well.
You're getting three different parts of Pokémon collecting in one little box:
Figures + Pokémon cards + booster opening.
What Does “Simplified Chinese Pokémon” Mean?
These are products created for the Simplified Chinese Pokémon market, so the cards and some packaging text are printed in Simplified Chinese.
That doesn't make them unofficial Pokémon cards.
The Dream Painting Pikachu line is documented as an official Chinese Pokémon collector product, with multiple sources identifying the release as part of Pokémon's Chinese 30th Anniversary range.
For Australian collectors, Simplified Chinese Pokémon has become particularly interesting because the market receives products and presentation styles that can be quite different from familiar English Pokémon TCG releases.
And Dream Painting is a great example.
This isn't simply an English product with different writing printed on the box.
The figure-and-card concept is the attraction.
Should You Open It or Keep It Sealed?
Ahh.
The eternal Pokémon collector problem. 😂
OPEN IT ⚡
Opening makes sense if you want:
A random Pikachu figure to display, its corresponding card, the excitement of hunting the hidden design, and another 30th Celebration booster pack to rip.
KEEP IT SEALED 📦
The gold 30th Anniversary packaging itself looks fantastic as a display piece.
And because the contents remain unknown, a sealed blind box always retains that:
“What Pikachu is hiding in there?”
factor.
OUR ANSWER?
We'd open it.
There's a Pikachu trapped in there.
Seems rude not to let him out. 😂
Can You Choose Which Pikachu You Receive?
No.
That's the whole point of the blind-box format.
Individual sealed boxes contain a randomly selected design. A specific Pikachu figure cannot be selected or guaranteed.
Buying several boxes also doesn't automatically guarantee different figures.
So if you're trying to build the complete collection:
duplicates can happen.
Think Pokémon cards...
Except this time your duplicate is sitting on your shelf staring at you. 😂
Is the Pikachu Dream Painting Blind Box Worth Collecting?
That depends on what you collect.
If you're only interested in competitive Pokémon TCG decks, there are obviously more practical products.
But if you're into:
⚡ Pikachu
🎨 Pokémon card artwork
🗿 Pokémon figures
🃏 Pokémon cards
🔥 Opening booster packs
✨ 30th Anniversary products
🇨🇳 Unique Simplified Chinese releases
then this collection combines a surprising amount into one small product.
The clever part isn't simply that there's a figure included.
It's that the figure and Pokémon card belong together.
You're displaying the artwork alongside a physical interpretation of the same scene.
That's what gives Dream Painting its own identity.
